Sashico Needles and Thimbles

Adjustable Thimble Ring with Plate
Welcome to Tool School! with Instructor Katrina Walker
In this episode of Tool School,
We will explore Sashico Needles and Thimbles.
Sashico is a Japanese textile art form that features long running stitches formed with a heavy thread, traditionally stitched in white on indigo dyed fabric.
Clover offers two different packages of Sashico needles.
One package consists of 8 needles in 4 sizes of regular length needles, and the second set features 3 needles in longer sizes. Both types of Sashico needles are sharp, rigid needles with large eyes, necessary for easily creating beautiful running stitches with heavy thread.
Clover has also created a specially constructed thimble for Sashico work. This ring style thimble features a plate that is designed to assist in making long sets of running stitches. The thimble is adjustable to fit any finger size. Whether you are an experienced Sashico stitcher or a beginner, Clover’s specially designed Sashico needles and thimble will make creating stitches a pleasure.
