Double-Ended Stitch Holders
Welcome to Tool School!
with Instructor Katrina Walker
In this episode of Tool School,
We will explore Double-Ended Stitch Holders.
The Double-Ended Stitch Holder is a tool designed to hold live knitting stitches that are temporarily unused during construction.
There are three sizes of Double-Ended Stitch Holders:
- Small, suitable for needles sized 2-7
- Medium, for needles sized 5-11
- Large, also for needles sized 5-11, but featuring an extended length convenient for larger projects. The Large size Double-Ended Stitch Holder also features a special cap design that allows it to be held out of the way while grafting with large needles.
To use a Double-Ended Stitch Holder, simply remove either end cap of the elastic band from the double-pointed needle. Slip the live stitches from your knitting onto the holder. Then replace the end cap to close and secure the stitches.
The Double-Ended Stitch Holder also makes it easy to slip the stitches on or off from either end of the holder.
Make sure you have a selection of Double-Ended Stitch Holders ready for your next knitting project. You’ll be glad you did.
