Welcome to Tool School!

In this episode of Tool School,
We will explore the Fabric Tube Maker.
The Fabric Tube Maker makes it easy to create tubes for Jelly Roll® projects and other fun fabric crafts.
The Fabric Tube Maker is made from 4 different parts that combine to create two interlocking sets. Parts A and B interlock to form one set, and parts C and D interlock to form the second set. Each interlocking set works together to efficiently fold the fabric and batting together into a perfect double fold as you sew for fast, easy creation of padded fabric tubes in a one-step operation.
To use the Fabric Tube Maker, you will use a 2 ½ inch wide strip of fabric plus an optional thin batting strip 2 ¼” wide. Place the batting on the wrong side of the fabric strip. Insert the fabric and batting strip into part A. Place part B into the center of the fabric and batting and slide forward to click into place with part A. Pull a few inches of the fabric and batting through parts A and B. The fabric and batting should fold toward the center.
Next, insert the folded fabric and batting strip into part C in front of the part A and B set. This will make the strip fold again. Place part D on top of the center of the strip behind part C and slide forward until it clicks into place.
Pull the fabric and batting strip through the two sets as you sew, keeping the position of the paired units close to the needle plate. Slide the two sets along as you sew to keep your fabric and batting tubes folding accurately.
The Fabric Tube Maker is a quick and easy way to create perfectly folded fabric tubes from Jelly Rolls or fabric strips for making a variety of projects such as baskets and rugs.
What a fun and decorative way to embellish your home and use up leftover fabric yardage.
