What is it? – Whether you’re a seasoned fashionista or a die hard quilt aficionado, applique can be an amazing part of your design process. Applique is essentially applying one piece of fabric to another. It’s usually comprised of supporting decorative fabric motifs attached to a larger, background piece of fabric. It can, and often does, add both design and depth to our project. The overall effect can be enhanced by sourcing an unending selection of fabric colors, patterns or textures. It can make truly inspiring additions to quilting, fashion, home décor and craft projects. But how? How do we attach these smaller decorative pieces to our background fabric in the design that supports our creative vision? Remember, anything involving a needle and thread can be time consuming. Perhaps the easiest, fastest and most direct method to accomplish our creative design is fusible applique. The employment of a fusible material allows us to easily, quickly and precisely press our motif shapes onto our base fabric. The characteristics of that fusible medium are important, however, and will have an amazing influence on the results achieved in our finished project. So where can we find a fusible material with all of those important characteristics? Clover of course. Clover Wonder Fuse truly is the ultimate fusible material.

Colors, designs, textures and themes all have applications to the creative process for quilting, fashion, home decor or crafting.
